the "mode" is a string which is passed to the generate() function. it controls the protection level the keys will use. they can be "cmp", "ctr", "enc" or "dec". the "cmp" mode uses the chip erase commands, "ctr" uses the block erase commands (when the first key is made) and "enc" uses the write protect commands.
